The Kitchen

Buckets & Borders proudly partnered with the Regina Food Bank and Leopold’s Tavern to build an official 3x3 outdoor basketball court at the new Community Food Hub in summer 2024.

The Community Food Hub is the first of its kind, offering all clients food choice and includes a gathering space with an outdoor garden, play structure and basketball court in downtown Regina.

The students of Thompson School contributed to the design and naming of the court “The Kitchen”.

The Artist

Local artist, Brianna LaPlante, was selected as the artist to complete the on-court artwork.

“I chose the representation of a Starblanket with a contemporary twist. I want this court and design to be a symbol of community and keep warm the many interactions that will take place through this food hub. This is a place where food sovereignty, health, and food as medicine can come to life”
