MINAHIK WASKAHIGANIK (Pinehouse Lake) is located Approximately 500 KM’s North of Saskatoon, SK. In fall 2023, members of the Buckets & Borders team visited Pinehouse Lake to meet the community, run some youth programming, and start developing the blueprint for a 2024 project
In partnership with Kineepik Metis Local and Pinehouse Business North (PBN), the vision came to fruition and a full outdoor basketball court was built from start to finish in summer 2024

The design of the court was created by a group of local youth, and renowned local artist, Gary Natomagan. The design of the court represents the beauty of Northern Saskatchewan and the court is ideally located in the heart of the Pinehouse community, just steps away from the lake itself.
